It was 1986 and I had been in the Hare Krsna movement for a few years, starting from Boston and working my way across the U.S. and finally ending up in Tripurari Maharaj's ashram in San Francisco. He became a kind of outcast because he started to follow Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Maharaj who was the older godbrother of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. We went to India and Nabadwip and I sought initiation from Srila Sridhar Maharj. He was kind enough to grant me that and gave me the name Vrajavala devi dasi. So for a few years I collected in Miami and sent my collection to India because they were doing some building at Sri Caitanya Saraswat Math.In a few years, I bought my daughter there and she was initiated by Srila Sridhar Maharaj's chosen successor, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj and given the name Rameswari devi dasi. Even though Srila Bhakti Raksak never left India, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami (world-famous founder of ISKCON) kept in close touch with him. After Srila Sridhar Maharaj's departure, Srila B.S. Govinda Maharaj started his World Tours and visited our small center in Miami on the First Tour. He just now returned from his 24th World Tour.
